I kinda feel like I may be a little bit of both, a Maven and a Connector. I, like my father, have always felt that I’m very good at meeting and connecting with almost everyone, and part of that is accepting most everyone’s more dislikable traits, although I do have my limits. 😏 But connecting with people is one of my most favorite things to do, and, I think, it can also be motivated by the fact that I have a huge desire to be liked.
It is sometimes a challenge, though, to bring different groups or individuals together especially when characteristics do not mesh well between the two. And I have to admit, in those cases I don’t try.
On the Maven side I definitely like to be knowledgeable and, more importantly, fact based. I love to have conversations with everyone and have good information that I can pass along to others. And, to be honest, I have a great desire to be right. 😂 I am still learning, to this day, how to turn off my know-it-all-ish.
I love your writings on this and it challenges all of us to better look within ourselves to know who we are and be better. Thank you.
I think there is something to be said about not necessarily being just one of the archetypes, or even feeling like you embody all of them or none of them. I'm such a sucker for a good framework, so I generally find them really helpful to a point, but it also gets tricky to keep from over-emphasizing or oversimplifying them.
I don't think I'm any of those archetypes!
